What You Should Do with the Golden State Warriors in Fantasy Basketball

Many NBA Fantasy players believe that the Warriors' season is over and they should consider rebuilding. The Warriors are exactly that team that can have a rough regular season but take care of business when it really matters. In this article, I will share my thoughts and predictions about what might happen with the Dub Nation and their current players.

Draymond Green

Draymond Green is someone you should consider adding from your waiver wire. I personally added Green on December 31st, and I know what he's is capable of. Nonetheless, the situation with Chris Paul can also come in handy. Paul will be sidelined with a fractured hand for quite some time, and Green will be one of the main floor generals for the Warriors going forward. In Green's the first game (24 minutes from the bench) after his suspension he posted 7 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Although Green played well he can do better. When Green starts again, my prediction is that he will be flirting with a triple-double any given night with starter minutes. Simply put the Warriors are in desperate need of wins. Virtual meetings, individual counseling sessions, and the Warrior's current place in standings should be enough for Green to understand that the Warriors need nothing else but the best from him.

Can the Warriors Dynasty Still Be Saved?

I believe Golden State’s front office will make some big moves at the trade deadline. Stephen Curry is 35, Klay Thompson is 33, and Draymond Green is also 33. The 2023-2024 season could be the last chance to win it all and save the Warriors dynasty before they go into a rebuild. I don’t think that any of the trio will be traded.

My guess is that players like Andrew WigginsKevon LooneyChris Paul, and maybe even Jonathan Kuminga could be traded in the foreseeable future. The Warriors have five future first-round picks from 2025 to 2029. The Warriors could make a similar move to what the Indiana Pacers did with Pascal Siakam

Jonathan Kuminga’s last 3 games:

• 20 PTS - 11 REB - 50% FG
• 28 PTS - 56% FG - 68% TS
• 24 PTS - 5 REB - 75% FG

Indiana sent three firsts and Bruce Brown to the Raptors for Siakam. I think that the Warriors could do the same thing. They could trade away Wiggins, a handful of picks, and a role player. A package like that could do the trick.

Right now, Wiggins is having the worst season of his career. For example, RJ Barret got traded recently from the Knicks to the Raptors, and in 11 games as a Raptor, Barret is showing his career-best averages. I think it’s worth the risk to add Wiggins from your wire or trade for him because there’s a chance the same could happen. Wiggins’s slump has to end sooner or later, either on the Warriors roster or elsewhere.

Of course, the Warriors haven't been playing well recently, but I believe they can turn things around. Nobody is playing at their best, and even Stephen Curry is struggling. The Warriors as a whole need to figure a lot of things out. I've had a lot of respect for the Warriors organization since they won their last chip in 2022. The Warriors came from zero to hero that year and eventually won it all.

Looking back on that run, Wiggins was one of the main players who made that happen. Wiggins' defense was amazing during the 2022 finals, but who knows, maybe the Warriors should trade Wiggins away to shake things up in 2024.
