The stack method is a heavily targeted and popularized maneuver by managers. In this method, you “stack” two players, usually the quarterback and their wide receiver or tight end. Today, we’ll be looking at some of the best stacks heading into the 2024 fantasy football season.

(QB) Patrick Mahomes + (TE) Travis Kelce - Kansas City Chiefs

Year after year, since Patrick Mahomes took over for the Chiefs, we have seen the Mahomes/Kelce stack dominate. Last year was one of the “down” years if you targeted this stack, however, I don’t think most people will hold that against the Super Bowl champs. Both Mahomes and Kelce have consistently been among the top performers at their respective positions, and Mahomes’ ability to always find Kelce will result in significant fantasy points week after week.

(QB) Jared Goff + (WR) Amon-Ra St. Brown + (TE) Sam LaPorta - Detroit Lions

Jared Goff having a career resurgence in Detroit is something most fans have enjoyed. The Lions are incredibly fun and exciting to watch, and they have a young core that will only improve. Goff has shown us time in and time out that when Amon-Ra St. Brown is on the field, he will get targets.

The new shiny toy acquired in last year’s draft, however, added another dimension to the Lions offense and helped take some of the load off of St. Brown. Sam LaPorta, the rookie phenom, was a nice safety net for Goff and will be a part of this fun stack next year as their chemistry continues to improve.

(QB) Kyler Murray + (TE) Trey McBride - Arizona Cardinals

My goodness, does Kyler Murray like throwing to Trey McBride. The second-year tight end proved himself to be very valuable to the Cardinals offense. The unfortunate injury to Zach Ertz allowed McBride to get a big opportunity, and he turned that into 81 catches for 825 yards. Keep an eye on him in drafts, and Murray might be a sneaky buy as he continues to get rid of some of the rust we saw last year.

(QB) Lamar Jackson + (TE) Mark Andrews - Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens had an incredible season last year while Mark Andrews was injured for a large portion of it. In his career with Lamar Jackson, Mark Andrews has 324 catches for 4,156 yards and 37 touchdowns. Stacking Jackson and Andrews can provide roster flexibility, especially at the tight end position. If you secure Andrews, you may not need to invest heavily in another tight end, allowing you to focus on other positions during the draft.

(QB) Tua Tagovailoa + (WR) Tyreek Hill - Miami Dolphins

Missing one game probably caused Tyreek Hill to fall short of his 2,000-yard season last year. Hill is a walking big-play possibility, and Tua Tagovailoa seems very comfortable with just letting it loose and having Hill run under it.

Tagovailoa showed he has some development to go as a quarterback overall, but this Dolphins stack was on top of the fantasy points charts for the majority of the year. I don’t believe Tagovailoa has the upside of these other quarterbacks, talent-wise, but that doesn’t matter when you have Hill wide-open 40 yards down the field.

(QB) Dak Prescott + (WR) CeeDee Lamb - Dallas Cowboys

The most important part of a stack is the connection between the quarterback and their receiver. Mahomes and Kelce are the prime examples of that, but Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb are right there with them. Prescott knows who his WR1 is and will do what it takes to get him the ball.

Lamb had his breakout season last year with 135 catches, 1749 yards, and 12 touchdowns. The 24-year-old Wide receiver is ready to solidify his name in the Justin JeffersonJa’Marr Chase conversation, and if Prescott can play at an MVP level, the sky is the limit.
