The Buffalo Bills entered the 2024 NFL Draft in an interesting spot. Having failed to get over the hump yet again, they traded away star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, and moved on from numerous other veterans such as Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer, the Bills desperately needed a quality draft class to get back in the right direction. While I don’t think they knocked it out of the park with star talent, this draft did more than enough for me to have confidence in the Bills at the top of the AFC yet again next season.

Round 2: Keon Coleman, 

WR Grade: B+

After maneuvering around and ultimately out of the first round, the Bills gave Josh Allen a fun new weapon in Keon Coleman. Keon was a polarizing one, and I think he has a wide range of outcomes, but I liked him. I would have picked Adonai Mitchell personally, and I think he would have been a much better complement to Josh Allen and the rest of the receiver room as a true deep threat, but I don’t hate this pick. I did a full breakdown on Coleman here, so you can check that one out Bills fans, but he was the guy out of the “boom/bust” receiver prospects that I liked the best (Worthy, Legette, Coleman).

Round 2: Cole Bishop,

S Grade: A+

I was a big Cole Bishop fan so this is a pretty great pick to me. The fit is great in Doug McDermott’s system, and they needed safety help pretty badly, I think it was lost in the shuffle of this offseason how bad both Hyde and Poyer were last year and I think Bishop could end up being a pretty great pick up for them, and a guy that can be an impact player right away. 

Round 3: DeWayne Carter, IDL

Grade: C

DeWayne Carter was a guy that I liked a bit, but the third round was really early for me. I had a late 4th on Carter, so this was a pretty big reach in my opinion. Nonetheless, I think Carter has solid upside as a second defensive tackle and at the very least could be a good backup to Ed Oliver.

Round 4: Ray Davis, RB

Grade: A

I absolutely loved the Ray Davis pick in the 4th round. This offense struggled to get production behind James Cook from guys like Damien Harris, Latavious Murray, and Ty Johnson, and Ray Davis, while not a flashy back with huge upside, will fill that role perfectly and could even steal some work from Cook (and be a great pick in your best ball drafts). I had a third round on Davis, so this is solid value too.

Round 5: Sedric Van Praan, C

Grade: A

Sedrick Van Praan was another great value pick for the Bills. A really solid center prospect with good tape. I had an early 4th on Van Praan and I could very easily see a world where he becomes a starting center for this team for a long time.

Round 5: Edufuan Ulofoshio, LB

Grade: C+

Edfuan Ulofoshio is a raw athlete at linebacker but he just isn’t very good right now. He could contribute on special teams at the very least, but in the 5th round, I don’t love it. At this stage in the draft, it's tolerable to take upside swings on good athletes. This pick is mostly fine to me, but I would have gone elsewhere.

Round 5: Javon Solomon, EDGE

Grade: A

I really liked Javon Solomon, he was one of my guys off the edge and I think he has really high upside as a pass rusher and could be a big splash rotational guy. Love this pick, adds some much-needed juice off the edge for Buffalo.

Round 6: Tylen Grable, OT

Grade: A+

Tylan Grable is a great athlete and a great run blocker, he is pretty unrefined as a pass protector but is a really high upside player, and is a lot better then a lot of other developmental tackles I was familiar with on day 3. Great pick.

Round 6: Daequan Hardy, CB

Grade: A

I liked Daequan Hardy a lot too. He was a really fun player and was clearly the best draft-eligible Penn State corner based solely on the 2023 film. I think Hardy can be an impact special teamer with the upside to be a good slot corner.

Round 7: Travis Clayton, OL

Grade: N/A

They rounded it out with Travis Clayton who is another developmental tackle from overseas, I am a much bigger fan of this one since he was taken in the 7th round than the one the Detroit Lions took in round 4 just based purely off of process, but again I’m just going to give this N/A since I do not have the capability to watch this guy play football.
