Biggest 2025 Riser

Cam Ward, Miami (QB)

After being left out of my first top 24 list, Cam Ward and his stunning week one performance made me go back and watch his film. I never gave Ward too much of a look last year when he was with Washington State based on the level of competition. Ward is 22 years old but he’s finally facing some real competition with Miami for his last year of college.

The reason why I have Ward so high is because quarterbacks are always needed in the NFL. There will always be a team that reaches to get their guy and gives them better draft capital then they probably should have gotten. We’re also assuming this is a superflex draft, so getting a starting quarterback is the easiest way to accumulate value. Ward has all the tools to become an NFL starter and more.

What really makes Ward special is his tools. No one in this class really pops off the page with their arm talent or throwing ability but Ward makes throws that I haven’t seen anyone else make. Now that comes with a bunch of terrible decisions but you’re taking a high risk high reward case with Ward. With the 2025 quarterback rankings wide open, I’m fine taking a shot on Ward who has the upside to become a superstar in the NFL.
