Offenses soared in Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season as some of football’s most exciting rookies had breakout performances. A lot has been shaken up in the world of fantasy football since last week, so it’s time to look at which moves could bring you even closer to winning a fantasy football league championship.

In fantasy football, consistency is key when it comes to sustained success. Maintaining a solid group of high-volume, dependable players is the way to go when you’re seeking wins. This means making trades at the right time for the right players is one of the most important aspects of the game.

If you’re in need of a bit of assistance in trading, hopefully this list should help you out. Keep setting those lineups and don’t forget to put in your waiver claims!

Buy Low

Tucker Kraft - TE, GB

Week 5 Stats - 4 Targets

2 Rec, 13 Rec Yards

1 Carry, 2 Rush Yards

It was tough sledding for Tucker Kraft’s fantasy managers after two weeks of elite fantasy performances at the tight end position. The tight end only had 13 receiving yards and posted an extremely poor outing in fantasy football. Unfortunately, this performance brings questions about Kraft’s viability as a weekly starter at the tight end position after logging two great weeks against Minnesota and Los Angeles.

I don’t think it’s quite time to panic on Kraft. He still had a high snap percentage and was on the field for 35 passing plays against Arizona. It’s a safe bet that Kraft will rebound over the next few weeks as he continues to establish himself as a relevant part of this high-volume Green Bay passing offense.

If you have a leaguemate who is looking to offload Kraft at a low price, making a trade for the young tight end could wind up being a valuable transaction for your fantasy squad. Kraft’s price is low at the moment, and we’ve seen his potential over the first six weeks of the season.

Marvin Harrison Jr

WR, ARI

Harrison was knocked out of Sunday’s contest against Green Bay with a concussion during the second quarter. This meant he finished the game with zero fantasy points, thoroughly disappointing his fantasy managers. After posting only two catches and 36 receiving yards the previous week, Marvin Harrison Jr. has now had two poor performances in a row, even though this one wasn’t really his fault.

Trading for Harrison right now could mean adding a wideout with top-ten potential to your fantasy team. Don’t be quick to forget that the rookie put up four receiving touchdowns in a three-week span earlier this season.

Through five healthy games, Harrison is averaging more than seven targets per game. The volume is there, and his current price is low. Trade for the star rookie wide receiver while you have the chance.

DK Metcalf - WR, SEA

Week 5 Stats - 11 Targets

3 Rec, 48 Rec Yards

It’s no secret that Metcalf has struggled in fantasy football over the last few weeks. This was best displayed in Week 6 against San Francisco, a game in which the wideout caught only three of his eleven targets. Even though he did average 16 yards per reception in the contest, this silver lining did little to satisfy Metcalf’s fantasy managers.

While it’s easy to feel pessimistic about Metcalf’s outlook, he still has a good situation around him in Seattle. He’s in an extremely high-volume passing offense and has averaged nine targets per game through six weeks, which is one of the highest marks in the entire NFL. Similar to Harrison, DK Metcalf should be relatively easy to trade for after posting consecutive poor fantasy performances.

Adding an elite wide receiver to your fantasy team would be huge at this point in the season. Don’t miss your chance to trade for this target-heavy wideout.

Sell High

Najee Harris - RB, PIT

Week 5 Stats - 14 Carries

106 Rush Yards, 1 Rush TD

2 Targets, 2 Rec, 16 Rec Yards

Najee Harris had the most efficient rushing game of his career on Sunday against Las Vegas, averaging over 7.5 rushing yards per carry. This was new territory for Harris in 2024 after the running back had averaged around 3.3 yards per carry through the first five weeks of the 2024 NFL season.

However, I think it may be time to pump the brakes on Najee Harris in fantasy football. This was a relatively easy matchup for Harris against a Raiders defense that has allowed 140.3 rushing yards per game this season. Quarterback Justin Fields has also continued to run the football effectively and efficiently through six games. Fields ran the ball 11 times on Sunday and has logged six or more carries in every game in 2024 while also scoring five touchdowns on the ground.

I just don’t think that there’s a lot of room for Harris to grow here. He faces competition for carries and rushing touchdowns from Fields and hasn’t been overwhelmingly efficient outside of this past week. Trading Harris could be a good move for any fantasy managers who are seeking a more consistent running back for their fantasy teams.

Sam LaPorta - TE, DET

Week 5 Stats - 1 Target

1 Rec, 52 Rec Yards

1 Rec TD

After being one of the league’s best tight ends in 2023, LaPorta started slow in 2024. Through five games, the tight end has only had one outing with at least five targets. However, LaPorta put up his strongest fantasy performance of the young season after scoring a 52-yard touchdown off of a trick play in Detroit’s blowout win over Dallas.

The downside here is that LaPorta only had one target in what was Detroit’s best offensive game of the season so far. This isn’t an isolated issue, either. LaPorta has averaged only three targets per game in 2024 after drawing 120 targets in a stellar rookie season.

This big play saved LaPorta’s game. Don’t be blind to the fact that the young tight end simply hasn’t been getting the same amount of targets as last year. Trading LaPorta for a more targeted and consistent tight end would be a great move at this point.

Jordan Mason - RB - SF

Week 5 Stats - 9 Carries

73 Rush Yards, 2 Targets

1 Rec, 9 Rec Yards

Mason left Thursday's game against Seattle in the second quarter with a shoulder injury and only returned for one play in the second half before remaining on the sideline for the rest of the contest. While this performance was fairly disappointing, injury concerns are not the reasoning behind why I believe you should trade away Jordan Mason.

Mason has had a fantastic season since stepping in to replace the injured superstar running back Christian McCaffrey. He’s averaged over five yards per carry through six games and has been extremely involved in San Francisco’s offense. However, with McCaffrey set to return next month and rookie running back Isaac Guerendo having a breakout performance in Mason’s absence, it may be about time to get rid of Mason before his time as the unquestioned starter in San Francisco comes to a close.

Don’t get me wrong, Mason will most likely continue to put together great weeks until McCaffrey returns, but trading him now could allow you to hop off of the Jordan Mason hype-train at the perfect time. This is more of a long-term move. Trading away a player whose role is set to decrease down the road makes sense if you're looking to compete for a fantasy football championship.
