With more than four NBA weeks coming and going, here are some players who are worth adding in your respective fantasy leagues. These players have made the most of their opportunities and have made a case for more playing time moving forward. A lot of these players are also benefiting from the high number of injuries that have been occurring in the league thus far. Please note that all of these players are owned in less than 51% of ESPN leagues.
Tari Eason
(Houston Rockets F)
Tari Eason has been an extremely valuable bench option for the Rockets this season. The lanky, athletic wing is suffocating on defense and has proven to be an efficient scorer. Eason has been instrumental for the Rockets’ great start this year as he’s gone for 11.7 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 2.2 SPG, and 1.1 BPG on 53% field goal percentage over his first fifteen games. Tari is a worthwhile addition in all fantasy formats due to his all around versatility.
Isaiah Hartenstein
(Oklahoma City Thunder)
Isaiah Hartenstein just returned from injury and made an immediate impact for his team as he went for 13 PTS, 14 REB, and 4 BLK in 29 minutes. Even though he came off the bench, Hartenstein filled in nicely at the 5 for the injured Chet Holmgren. Hartenstein is coming off a career year as he averaged 7.8 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 1.2 SPG, and 1.1 BPG. Hartenstein is a must add in all leagues due to his all around impact.
Shaedon Sharpe
(Portland Trail Blazers G)
Shaedon Sharpe had a slow start to the season as he put up 8.7 PPG on 40/8/60 shooting splits through his first three contests. Despite the slow start, Sharpe has since turned it around as he has averaged 25.8 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 1.5 SPG on 48/42/72 splits over his last four games. Despite Anfernee Simons and Deandre Ayton eventual returns, Shaedon should continue to have a starting role which gives him solid long term value.
Dalton Knecht
(Los Angeles Lakers F)
Since his recent promotion into the starting lineup (due to Rui Hachimura’s injury), Dalton Knecht has been lights out as he’s averaging 24.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 1 SPG on 67% from the field and 67% from deep over his last four contests. The sharpshooter out of Tennessee has potentially earned a permanent starting role if he can continue playing at this high of a level.
Jared McCain
(Philadelphia 76ers G)
With Joel Embiid and Paul George in and out of the lineup, and Tyrese Maxey still out, Jared McCain has seen a spike in fantasy value. Jared has been on a heater over his last three games as he’s put up 25.5 PPG and 4.5 APG 50/44/100 shooting splits. Even with Maxey returning, McCain will have a starting role due to his terrific shooting to begin this season.
Trey Murphy III
(New Orleans Pelicans F)
Trey Murphy has had a slow start to this season as he’s 15.5 PPG and 5 RPG on 37/27/100 shooting splits. He averaged 14.8 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 0.9 SPG on 44% shooting from the field and 38% from deep off the bench last season, which shows he has a lot of upside moving forward if he can get his shooting percentages up. With the Pelicans having an ambulance roster, there will be more opportunities for Murphy to improve in the near future.
Jordan Clarkson
(Utah Jazz G)
Jordan Clarkson has been an impactful player off the Jazz bench due to his exceptional playmaking abilities. Clarkson has put up 18 PPG, 4.2 APG, and 1.5 SPG on 40% from the field and 28% from three over his last six games. While Jordan can still improve his shooting efficiency, the volume is a welcoming sign for his future fantasy value.
Bilal Coulibaly
(Washington Wizards G/F)
Bilal Coulibaly is having a breakout year as he’s gone for 14.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 1.2 SPG on 55/37/75 shooting splits through twelve games to begin the 2024-25 campaign. Bilal has improved his PPG, RPG, SPG, FG%, and 3PT% compared to his stats from last season. Despite the return of Malcolm Brogdon, Coulibaly should continue to have a prominent role moving forward, due to his improved offensive play.
Payton Pritchard
(Boston Celtics G)
Payton Pritchard has been an absolute force as a backup for the Celtics. Pritchard has had a great start to this season as he’s averaged 15.3 PPG and 1.1 SPG on an impressive 47% from the field and 42% from deep. Payton will continue to compete for a bigger role due to his lights out shooting and serviceable defense.
Jaden McDaniels
(Minnesota Timberwolves F)
Jaden McDaniels has been quietly consistent over his last four games as he’s put up 12.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, and 3 SPG on 51% from the field and 35% from 3PT range. McDaniels sees a lot of playing time due to being one of the most stifling defensive wings in the league. If he can keep up this offensive efficiency, Jaden will be worth rostering in smaller fantasy formats.
Brandon Boston Jr.
(New Orleans Pelicans F)
Brandon Boston Jr. is another beneficiary of the injury riddled Pelicans squad. Since seeing a more prominent role for New Orleans, Boston has taken full advantage as he’s put up 14.4 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 4.2 APG, and 1.4 SPG on 42/33/88 splits (stats taken from the last eleven games). Brandon is due for a larger workload until NOLA becomes healthier in the coming weeks.
