The 2025 NFL Draft should bring a number of talented rookies on the offensive side of the ball into the realm of fantasy football. It may be a bit daunting to rank next year’s rookies, still five months away from the NFL Draft, but it’s a good idea to establish a baseline of values before the pre-draft process truly begins. These rankings will most likely change drastically over the next few months, but as of this moment, this year’s class is loaded with running back talent that should be taken in the first two rounds of dynasty rookie drafts.
These landing spots are based on my projection for the NFL draft. With said landing spots in mind, I’ll be using them to make my decisions for this dynasty rookie draft. PSA: this is just to get a baseline for this kind of exercise. Going forward, we’ll be adding draft capital and different industry NFL mocks as well. League format: 1QB, PPR.
Round One
1.01 - RB - Ashton Jeanty
Landing Spot - Dallas Cowboys
This season, the Cowboys were unable to reward their fanbase with a playoff berth despite the massive expectations coming into the 2024 NFL season. Part of this was due to the fact that quarterback Dak Prescott was placed on season-ending injured reserve midway through the season. However, not all of the blame should be placed on this injury.
Dallas was putting up disappointing offensive performances even before Prescott was injured, and a lot of the blame fell on their rushing attack, which was one of the worst in the NFL this season. Superstar Ashton Jeanty’s presence in the backfield should allow the Cowboys to have a more balanced offensive approach heading into 2025. He will be a huge part of their game plan and is an undeniably generational talent.
1.02 - WR - Tetairoa McMillan
Landing Spot - New England Patriots
As of this moment, New England controls the first-overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after the Giants defeated the Colts in an upset victory on Sunday. With rookie quarterback Drake Maye under center and playing well, it wouldn’t be shocking to see New England trade down from this position to obtain more draft picks, allowing a quarterback-needy team to select either Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward with the first pick.
These newly-acquired picks would also help the Patriots fill more holes in their roster, especially along the offensive line. If this were to occur, New England would most likely still be in a position to pick up one of the best receivers in this year’s draft, Tetairoa McMillan. McMillan would fill one of the Patriots’ biggest needs at wideout and would supply their young quarterback with a dynamic new weapon in the passing game.
1.03 - WR - Luther Burden
Landing Spot - Washington Commanders
Washington has enjoyed a surprisingly successful year, especially offensively, with rookie superstar Jayden Daniels. With Sunday night’s win against Atlanta, the Commanders officially punched their ticket to the playoffs. This is a huge step in the right direction for the franchise, but some work still needs to be done in the offseason if they want to maximize their Super Bowl window.
The offense lacks a true number-two threat at wide receiver. Terry McLaurin has been a one-man show at the position this year, and despite his excellence, the offense would benefit from giving their young quarterback another weapon to work with. Luther Burden would be a great fit in the slot and could utilize his YAC ability to be an immediate fantasy-relevant option.
1.04 - RB - Omarion Hampton
Landing Spot - Denver Broncos
Similar to Washington, Denver has made some surprising noise this year with the help of a rookie quarterback. Bo Nix has been fantastic and will likely be a finalist for Offensive Rookie of the Year alongside Jayden Daniels and Brock Bowers. That being said, the Broncos offense still has some holes to fill.
Adding a physical runner with a high ceiling like Omarion Hampton could revive Denver’s rushing attack, taking some of the pressure off of their passing game. Hampton is a fantastic prospect and could end up being one of the league’s best running backs in time, so Denver would be glad to add him to their roster if given the chance. In this case, Omarion Hampton would figure to be the team’s immediate starter at the position, leading to instant fantasy football relevance.
1.05 - RB - Kaleb Johnson
Landing Spot - Los Angeles Chargers
With Jim Harbaugh in town, the Chargers have seen a rare turnaround that has led to a playoff berth in their head coach’s rookie season. It would make sense for the team to invest in young talent to increase their Super Bowl window while many of their young players are still on their rookie contracts.
The Chargers had a very strong 2024 NFL Draft, and if they continue to develop as a team heading into 2025, they could be one of the most desirable landing spots for any rookie running back. Their offensive identity is heavily involved with running the football, so taking a player like Kaleb Johnson would allow them to have a high ceiling player at the running back position to open up their offense even more.
1.06 - WR- Travis Hunter
Landing Spot - Jacksonville Jaguars
Travis Hunter is probably one of the most all-around talented players in the 2025 NFL Draft class, so him being selected in the top five picks would not be a surprise. The only downside to his dynasty outlook is the fact that he could play snaps at corner and receiver at the professional level.
While that would be super cool to see on the field, it wouldn’t help immensely if you are drafting him to your dynasty team strictly as a receiver. That being said, Hunter is an elite prospect at both positions and would form an elite duo with 2024 first-round pick Brian Thomas Jr, who has been incredible in his rookie season in Jacksonville.
This would allow Travis Hunter to contribute as the Jags’ WR2 and to also play some defensive snaps at cornerback as well. Jacksonville is in rebuild mode, and drafting a prospect who could dominate at two positions would definitely help them to fill up the holes on their roster. Hunter has an extremely high ceiling, but is a bit of a risk as well.
1.07 - RB - TreVeyon Henderson
Landing Spot - Las Vegas Raiders
TreVeyon Henderson has been incredibly efficient in 2024, averaging seven yards per carry this season at Ohio State. He has also shown the ability to be productive in the passing game, making him a very versatile weapon for whichever offense he might be drafted to.
Las Vegas is in need of another versatile playmaker to pair with tight end Brock Bowers, so this fit makes a lot of sense for both sides. Henderson would be the immediate starter and would receive a lot of touches right off the bat. Vegas would add another explosive weapon on offense for whichever quarterback they end up drafting in the first round.
1.08 - WR - Emeka Egbuka
Landing Spot - Buffalo Bills
Keon Coleman has been a good addition for the Bills, but Emeka Egbuka is tough to pass up. Khalil Shakir is also a good player, but Egbuka has a chance to be an elite slot receiver at the NFL level.
At Ohio State, Egbuka broke out as a sophomore with 74 catches for 1,151 yards and 11 touchdowns. While the production peaked there, Egbuka was consistently producing while playing next to elite NFL talent.
1.09 - QB - Shedeur Sanders
Landing Spot - New York Giants
Shedeur Sanders has made a strong case to be this year’s top quarterback in the draft, but is still neck-and-neck with Miami’s Cam Ward. Nonetheless, I think the Giants would jump at the chance to trade up for who could end up being their franchise quarterback after the departure of Daniel Jones.
Sanders would have a fantastic arsenal of weapons on offense with wide receivers Malik Nabers and Wan’Dale Robinson and running back Tyrone Tracy This would be a win-win landing spot if New York is able to hit on a few picks to bolster their offensive line later in the draft.
1.10 - QB - Cam Ward
Landing Spot - Las Vegas Raiders
Right now, I have Cam Ward going just after Shedeur Sanders. Las Vegas will be looking for their quarterback of the future and Cam Ward is a fantastic playmaker. If they are able to surround him with some solid weapons, he could be fairly successful in his first season, which would make him a steal in rookie drafts.
Ward has a very high ceiling and will be taken by either the Giants or Raiders this coming April. I think these landing spots are fairly interchangeable, but for now, this is how I am projecting it.
Round Two
2.01 - RB - Quinshon Judkins
Landing Spot - Cleveland Browns
Judkins has looked great splitting touches with TreVeyon Henderson this season at Ohio State, so a running back-needy team will likely select him within the first few rounds. Cleveland will be looking for an insurance policy at the position in case star running back Nick Chubb doesn’t end up returning to his past form after the injury that he sustained in 2023.
Judkins would be in a solid landing spot in Cleveland with a solid offensive line and the ability to learn from Nick Chubb. If he were to become the full-time starter, Judkins would end up being a huge value in rookie drafts. He has an extremely high ceiling depending on his landing spot.
2.02 - TE - Tyler Warren
Landing Spot - Indianapolis Colts
The Colts absolutely need to draft a tight end and selecting Warren would be an A+ pick. He fits an immediate need at the position, helping out quarterback Anthony Richardson's development. Warren has been one of the best tight ends in the country this season and has been flying up draft boards over the last few months.
2.03 - WR - Tre Harris
Landing Spot - Carolina Panthers
After quarterback Bryce Young's breakout this season, it is imperative that Carolina selects another wideout to help ensure that their offense remains competitive. Harris has been extremely productive over the last few seasons at Ole Miss and would be a strong Day 2 pick for the Panthers. Harris would join Thielen, Legette, and Coker to form a strong position group.
2.04 - RB - Nicholas Singleton
Landing Spot - Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota would be a strong landing spot for a player like Nicholas Singleton. If running back Aaron Jones is no longer a Viking in 2025, Singleton would have a clear path to the starting job. On an already strong offense, the high-ceiling running back would have a chance to impress right out of the gate.
2.05 - QB - Jalen Milroe
Landing Spot - New York Jets
If Jalen Milroe decides to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, he could be a high-upside project quarterback for the New York Jets, who are expected to part ways with Aaron Rodgers this offseason. If this happens, giving Milroe time to sit behind a veteran quarterback would be a smart move, allowing the young quarterback to develop for a season or two.
2.06 - RB - Devin Neal
Landing Spot - New England Patriots
The Patriots are in need of some offensive firepower and could have an easy way to acquire it in the 2025 NFL Draft. A strong running back class allows New England to select one of college football's most productive backs: Devin Neal. Neal would be able to make an interesting backfield duo with incumbent starter Rhamondre Stevenson.
2.07 - WR - Tez Johnson
Landing Spot - Denver Broncos
Denver could use a WR2, and they shouldn't hesitate if given the chance to select quarterback Bo Nix's college teammate, Tez Johnson. Johnson would bring an element of speed to Denver's offense and could be the kind of weapon Nix needs to further his development heading into Year 2. This would be a slam-dunk for the Broncos.
2.08 - WR - Evan Stewart
Landing Spot - Cleveland Browns
Like the Broncos, the Browns are in need of help at wide receiver heading into this year's draft. Evan Stewart is a high-upside option who could be a real difference-maker in this Cleveland offense. Stewart would be given the chance to contribute right away, skyrocketing his dynasty value. If they select Stewart, the Browns would have a trio of young wide receivers in Cedric Tillman, Jerry Jeudy, and Evan Stewart.
2.09 - WR - Isaiah Bond
Landing Spot - New Orleans Saints
Isaiah Bond started off strong, but has seen his production fade over the last few games. The Saints are in need of about every position this offseason, so selecting the talented wide receiver out of Texas would be a good choice. It may take some time, but Bond would make a great pairing with wide receiver Chris Olave.
2.10 - WR - Kyren Lacy
Landing Spot - Pittsburgh Steelers
Kyren Lacy came into the season as a strong prospect, and this will help him to be selected on Day 2 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are in need of a threat at wideout outside of George Pickens, so Lacy will expand this offense a lot. The Steelers will have another weapon to add to their impressive offensive arsenal.
