Week 14 Fantasy Basketball Primer: Streams and Schedule Strategy

Week 13 is now in the books, and we now move on to week 14 as we edge closer and closer to the Fantasy Playoffs. Here’s a breakdown on every team’s schedule this week and players you can add for streaming for the week.

Atlanta Hawks 

4-game week with no back-to-backs and one low-volume day game on Sunday.

Key streamers: G/F Garrison Mathews can be an add for deeper leagues, especially with Trae Young expected to miss time under concussion protocol. Expect another big week from gaurd Dejounte Murray. Murray always plays his best with Young out of the lineup.

 

 

Boston Celtics

3 game week with no back-to-backs and no games on low-volume days. 

Key streamers: There are no great streamers this week, especially since Al Horford is not expected to miss time and there are no back-to-back games scheduled.

Brooklyn Nets

 3-game week with no back-to-backs and play one low-volume day game on Tuesday.

Key streamers: PG Dennis Smith Jr. has been a really solid streamer this year. Last week, Smith averaged 8.5 points, 2.3 steals, 3.3 assists, and 3.3 rebounds at 52%. Smith is a great 10-12 team streamer if you’re looking for steals.

 

 

Charlotte Hornets

 4-game week with one back-to-back on Friday and Saturday and no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: C-Nick Richards has missed the last few games with an injury. If Richards returns this week, he will be a definite add with the continued absence of center Mark Williams, who suffered a setback in his rehab. Forward PJ Washington has seen an uptick in minutes; he is a good point, steals, and rebound streamer for shallow leagues. F-Cody Martin is a good defensive streamer, averaging 2.5 stocks per game this year.

Chicago Bulls

3-game week with no back-to-backs and one low-volume day game on Sunday.

Key Streamers: G-Alex Caruso should be rostered in every league, but if he is not rostered in yours, he is a great addition for defensive numbers. Caruso averaged 9 points, 2.3 steals, 1.3 blocks, and two threes on 52% from the field last week. F- Patrick Williams returned from injury last week and with Zach Lavine being sidelined for the next two weeks, Williams will see high productivity and usage. G- Ayo Dosunmu has been playing well as of late, averaging 13 points, four assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 threes on 54% shooting. Dosunmu is also a nice option to look at with the Lavine injury.

Cleveland Cavaliers

3-game week with no back-to-backs and no low-volume day games. 

Key streamers: F-George Niang has been on a silent tear since Evan Mobley's injury. Last week, Niang averaged 18.7 points, four rebounds, and four threes on 62% shooting. If Niang is still available, he is an easy addition until Mobley returns. G-Sam Merrill continues his shooting tear, averaging 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and 3.7 threes on 48% shooting.

 

 

Dallas Mavericks

 4-game week with a back-to-back on FRIDAY and Saturday and no low-volume day games. 

Key streamers: G-Tim Hardaway has been on an offensive tear as of late, averaging 27 points, 4.5 threes, and one steal last week. Center Dereck Lively is a severely underrated add. Lively should be rostered in the majority of leagues. Lively is a great FG% Rebound and Defensive streamer.

Denver Nuggets

 3-game week with no back-to-backs and one low-volume day game on Tuesday.

Key streamers: If available, guard Kentavious Caldwell Pope is a good threes and steals streamer for 8-12 team leagues.

Detroit Pistons: It's a four-game week with back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday and one low-volume game on Sunday.

Key streamers- F-Ausar Thompson is a great streamer this week. Thompson has been showing flashes of his early season performances, averaging 14 points, nine rebounds, and 1.7 assists on 65% shooting. 

Golden State Warriors

It's a three-game week with back-to-back games on Wednesday and Thursday. There are no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: F/C-Dario Saric averaged 10 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.6 threes on 50% shooting last week. F-Trayce-Jackson Davis was one of the most dropped players last week, but I wouldn’t mind giving him one more chance. The talent is there, with Davis's great FG% rebounding and defensive stats. Davis just needs the opportunity.

 

 

Houston Rockets

3-game week with a back-to-back Friday and Saturday with no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: G-Amen Thompson has been heating up, averaging 10 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1 block on 59% shooting last week.

Indiana Pacers

It's a four-game week, with back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday and one low-volume day game on Sunday.

Key streamers: F/C-Jalen Smith had a monster outing in his last game, posting 15 points, two blocks, one steal, four rebounds, and great shooting, even with the addition of Pascal Siakam. Smith has been a hot and cold player all season, but if you catch him on the right night, he can have major production for your team as a streamer.

Los Angeles Clippers

3-game week with a back-to-back Friday and Saturday and no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: C-Daniel Theis is an excellent defensive streamer, averaging 2.5 blocks per game last week with 5.5 rebounds. C-Mason Plumlee has taken over the starting role with the injury to starting C- Ivica Zubac; he averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks on 75% shooting. 

 

 

Los Angeles Lakers

3-game week with no back-to-backs and a low-volume game on Tuesday.

Key streamers: F- Jarred Vanderbilt came off the bench and put up a solid 7.5 points, 1.5 steals, and 5.5 rebounds on 77% shooting. F-Cam Reddish is a nice steals streamer, averaging 1.2 for the season. C-Christian Woods can also bring in good defensive numbers as a streamer, averaging 2.8 stocks last week and 5.5 rebounds as he gets steady minutes off the bench.

Memphis Grizzlies

It's a four-game week with no back-to-backs. We have one low-volume day game on Sunday. 

Key streamers: G-Luke Kennard has been playing starting point guard for this ravished Grizzlies team. Kennard's averaged 15 points, 4 assists, two rebounds, and almost four threes a game on 48% shooting over the last week. F-Vince Williams JR. has taken full advantage of his opportunity, and if he is available in your league, go and add him. Williams averaged 16 points, 2.7 stocks, 3.7 assists, six rebounds, and 2.7 threes on 50% shooting. Williams is in flames right now.

Miami Heat

It's a three-game week with back-to-back Wednesday and Thursday games and no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: G/F Caleb Martin has taken over the absence of Jaime Jaquez Jr. He averaged 10 points, 4.5 rebounds, and three assists on 55% shooting last week. G/F Duncan Robinson is coming off a bad week, averaging 8.5 points, two rebounds, and 1.5 threes on 41% shooting, but he can always bounce back and be a solid three-point streamer.

 

 

Milwaukee Bucks

4-game week with a back-to-back Friday and Saturday with no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: G- Malik Beasley is a great 3-point option streamer, averaging 2.9 makes for the season. F- Jae Crowder returned last week from injury and would be a good deeper league option for threes and steals.

Minnesota Timberwolves

It's a four-game week with back-to-back games on Wednesday and Thursday and no low-volume day games. 

Key streamers: F-Kyle Anderson is a great option if any Minnesota starters miss any time this week. Anderson gives you 6.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 stocks on 47% shooting, and those numbers balloon when he gets 25-30 minutes in a game.

New Orleans Pelicans

3-game week with back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday with no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: G-Jordan Hawkins has been a killer from 3’s this season, averaging 3.3 threes last week with a 34-point explosion. F/C- Larry Nance has made big with his increase of time in the front court, averaging 8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and a steal last week on 56% shooting.

 

 

New York Knicks

3-game week with no back-to-backs and one low-volume day game on Tuesday. 

Key streamers: C-Precious Achiuwa could see big minutes this week if Center Isaiah Hartenstein misses any more time with his injury. Achiuwa put up 18 points, 11 rebounds, and one block on his last outing when Hartenstein exited the game early. G-Donte DiVincenzo continues to step up and averaged 14 points, 3.5 rebounds, three assists, and 2.5 threes on 44% last week. Josh Hart is always a good rebounding streaming option.

OKC Thunder

4 game week with back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday and two low-volume day games.

Key streamers: G/F Lu Dort got back into form last week, averaging 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, one steal, and 3.7 threes on 48% shooting. G-Isaiah Joe has been one of the top 3 point streamers this year, averaging two threes off the bench this season. G/F Josh Giddey had been dropped in many fantasy leagues with his subpar play, but he is coming off a good week with 10.5 points, seven rebounds, and 4.3 assists on 40% shooting.

Orlando Magic

It's a three-game week (with three days off between the first and second games). There are no back-to-back games, and there is one low-volume game on Sunday.

Key streamers: C-Wendell Carter Jr. should be added again across all leagues, with him reassuming the starting center role. Carter put up 19 points, seven rebounds, 1.5 threes, and 69% shooting last week. G-Markelle Fultz put up his best game since his return from injury, putting up 12 points, four assists, two blocks, and two steals as he started again. Fultz might miss Monday’s game with it being a second half of a back-to-back.

 

 

Philadelphia Sixers

3-game week with no back-to-backs and no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: F-Nic Batum is a productive defensive streamer, putting up 2.3 stocks and four rebounds last week, adding on 2.8 assists and 1.3 threes on 52% shooting. F-Kelly Oubre brings good productivity with 13 points, four rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.7 threes this season.

Phoenix Suns

4-game week with no back-to-backs and no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: G-Grayson Allen is having a career year, averaging 15 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.6 stocks with 3.6 threes on 50% shooting the last two weeks. G/F-Eric Gordon is another option who can give you steals, threes, and good scoring numbers on any given night.

Portland Trailblazers

This is a four-game week with back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday and two low-volume day games on Tuesday and Sunday.

Key streamers:Jabari Walker averaged 9.7 points and 8.3 rebounds last week for the BlazersG Malcolm Brogden is back on fire, seeing the bulk of the guard minutes. Brogden is averaging 23 points, 6.3 rebounds, 7 assists, 1.5 stocks, and 2.3 threes on 49% shooting.

 

 

Sacramento Kings

3-game week with no back-to-backs and no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: G-Kevin Huerter scored 20.5 points, three assists, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 4.5 threes on 58% shooting last week. F-Sasha Venzekov is a good deeper league option for points and threes.

San Antonio Spurs

This is a four-game week with back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday and no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: C-Zach Collins came back from injury last week. Collins is one of the most productive backup centers in the league, and when rookie sensation Victor Webenyama misses a game due to back-to-backs, Collins can put up top-30 fantasy value.

Toronto Raptors

This is a three-game week (three days off from the first to the second game), with no back-to-backs and one low-volume game on Sunday.

Key streamers: G/F Gary Trent is an excellent 3-point streamer, averaging four threes a game last week. C-Jontay Porter has been on a blocking tear since Jakob Poetl hit the sideline with his injury. He averaged 2.5 stocks in less than 19 minutes of playing time last week.

 

 

Utah Jazz

3-game week with no back-to-backs and one low-volume day game on Tuesday.

Key streamers: F-Simone Fontecchio is a nice 3-point shooter, putting up 10 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists with two threes on 52% shooting. G-Keyonte George is a good 3-point shooter, averaging 1.7 threes last week.

Washington Wizards

3-game week with back-to-back games on Wednesday and Thursday with no low-volume day games.

Key streamers: C-Marvin Bagley has given the Wizards great production since being traded to the team recently, averaging 18.3 points, ten rebounds, and 2 stocks on 52% shooting. Even with the return of Center Daniel Gafford, Bagley still put up good numbers in his decreased minutes. F-Bilal Coulibaly has been a solid defensive streamer all season, averaging 1.3 blocks last week.
