Top 24 2024 Dynasty Tight End Rankings & Tiers

The beginning of August is one of my favorite times of the year because of the fantasy content that I get to create. Preparing is almost as fun as actually watching your team battle it out every Sunday because at least now you’re super in control. Since it’s the beginning of the month that also means it’s time for me to reevaluate and update all of my fantasy football rankings.

 

Today we’re going to be diving into the hardest position to rank in dynasty, tight end. These rankings are in tiers, which means that I can see an argument for really an order within each tier. That said the goal of tiers is to help you create these value pockets. 

 

For transparency, to create my rankings, I use advanced premium stats from Fantasy Data, PFF, TeamRankings, sports books, film from All-22, and many other sources. Best Tight End Value

Noah Fant

I’m not surprised in the slightest to see Noah Fant this low on KTC, and I want to say this ranking is me calling my shot. There’s a real chance Fant could turn into nothing, but after tier five, none of these players are a sure thing. That being said, there are a number of reasons why you should invest in Noah Fant ahead of the 2024 season. 

 

 

For one, Fant was an elite prospect coming out of Iowa at the same time as T.J. Hockenson. Despite playing next to Hockenson, Fant was so good that he ended up being the Broncos' first-round pick (20th overall). Fant also scored a 9.88 RAS, which shows he’s going to be used more as a big wide receiver rather than a blocking tight end.

 

Most think Fant was a complete dud his whole career, but he showed flashes in Denver, scoring 10 PPG in 2020 and 9.9 PPG in 2021. It’s also worth noting that most tight ends break out on their second contract. Just look at Martellus Bennett or, more recently, David Njoku.

 

This off-season, the Seahawks brought in Ryan Grubb, a massive upgrade who favors pass catchers. Due to Shane Waldron’s style in 2023, Fant only had a 54.3% snap share in 2023, which made it hard for him to produce. Now that Colby Parkinson is gone and Grubb is in control expect this mark to go up to around 70%.

 

With Tyler Lockett's efficiency declining last year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Fant pass him up in 2024. Even if Fant isn’t the solidified number three option, I expect him to improve and then take over Lockett’s role as the number three target in 2025 (he has an out in his contract). At the end of the day, Fant is so cheap that you can take a shot on him without any risk.
